A Rocky Hill Artifact

This object is part of the collections held by Rocky Hill Historical Society. During a visit in person at an open house, took many photographs, but a portion of the full label of this colorful flame stitch needlework foldable fabric case was obscured. A query via email resulted in these images of this beautiful (looks like Bargello) work, along with the entire label.

French and Indian War
Petit Point fabric case given to Jonathan
Johnson by the Indians and carried by
Him at the fall of Quebec.

Gift of Wesley Hall

Thank you Edward Chiucarello, President of Rocky Hill Historical Society, for the followup and these images.

“…looked in our ledgers and found no other provenance. Here is a picture of the display label and two of the fabric.”
