The 15th annual Zagray Farm Spring Swap Meet and Gas-up continues on Sunday, May 4, in Colchester, Conn.

This nonprofit educational farm museum is operated by the Quinebaug Valley Engineers Association Inc. (QVEA) and features activities for the whole family. There is an 1800s sawmill, cable shovels, backhoes, dozers.

Tractors, plowing, stationary power, hit-n-miss engines, tag sale, crafts, blacksmithing demonstrations, farm tools and implements. Located at 544 Amston Rd., are some 200 acres plus original buildings which include the Zagray family homestead, dairy barn, machine shop, foundry, antique sawmill and various sheds. Sandpit area. Admission $5 per car. Breakfast, lunch, ice cream vendors.

Every Sunday, The Elephant's Trunk country flea market offers collectibles, antiques, interesting stuff at 490 Danbury Rd., New Milford, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food concessions, parking. No pets please. General admission is $2. (Take note: Early birds pay $20 to get in the gate at 5:45 a.m. for the first picks of the day.)

Meet calves, piglets, chicks, lambs and other baby animals at the Hancock Shaker Farm in Pittsfield, Mass., daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, May 4. Included in general admission of $18; children 12 and younger, free with family. The 750-acre village is a living history site and offers craft demonstrations and other activities. Shaker Village piglet. Historic buildings (the circular barn is simply amazing), hiking trails and gardens are all open for self-guided exploring.
