ConnecticutHistory.org, a project of Connecticut Humanities, is a state public history resource written for a diverse set of readers, ranging from students to educators to history buffs. We provide engaging, well-researched stories about Connecticut history that link to reliable primary and interpretive resources. These include related online databases, digitized primary source documents, artifacts, images, media, finding aids, etc. Our goal is to encourage readers to engage with the institutions, archives, museums, and communities that hold and interpret the materials that explore the diversity of Connecticut’s history.

The 2026 Farm Fresh Food Guide for Northeastern Connecticut makes local, farm-fresh food easier to find for EVERYONE in the Quiet Corner of Northeastern CT (NECT). It is an essential guide to keep at hand while travelling within the scenic and rural corner of the state… view the guide at https://s.uconn.edu/nect-farm-guide This indispensable guide carries listings of over 175 farms and farmstands and 21 farmers markets in the region. And with additional info including farms that accept SNAP, organic farms, and a whole season schedule of family-friendly farm events and activities, you're bound to find a way to support your local farmers (and eat some delicious food while you're at it!) The guide is produced by Grown Connected, a program administered by UConn Extension through a USDA AMS grant.
Researchers at the University of Connecticut have been engaged in systematically analyzing the state's horse industry in order to provide information to horse owners, horse businesses, and policy makers on demographic and economic characteristics of horse ownership in Connecticut. The project has involved interdisciplinary collaboration between economists and an animal scientist. This web page presents some of the available outcomes of our research. These include a brochure and a report that shares the results of the first horse survey to be conducted in Connecticut. We hope that our efforts will not only provide information to those interested in learning more about the unique characteristics of Connecticut's horse industry, but will also encourage further study of this important area. Financial support of this research was provided by the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources at the University of Connecticut.
